Studio Tips

We want your pet to look their best for their pet portrait so we’ve put together a couple of studio tips and suggestions you might want to consider prior your visit the studio. We’ve also included couple of things you might want to bring with you.

Studio Tips – things to consider

Studio tip - dog bathIf your animal needs grooming, it’s a good idea to arrange this for around 14 days before the shoot, otherwise they appear to have a ‘just cut’ look to their coat which can seem unnatural in images.

Having said that, feel free to give your dog a bath the day before their shoot to ensure a nice glossy coat. You don’t want them looking like naughty Frankie in the image above!!
(Please note that we have a pond and it is right next to the studio!!)

I always suggest giving your dog a good walk before their shoot ensuring, and if possible, they have fully toileted, but don’t worry if they don’t as accidents do happen; PLUS we always have puppy pads to hand just in case.

We have some towels to dry fur if it’s wet when you arrive.

And finally, if you are bringing more than one pet, please bring along another person to help look after one pet, whilst we photograph the other.

Studio Tips – things to bring with you

Studio tips - doggie treatsPlease bring along a brush or comb if your pet has a long coat, it’s good to titivate.

You might want to bring along a favourite toy or comforter blanket your pet may like to have around them; it helps to settle them with something familiar in strange surroundings.

We’ve always got nice treats to hand BUT if your dog has any special dietary requirements/allergies it’s probably best that you bring their own special treats with you to reward them for being so good.

Don’t forget, if you have any other questions or wish to discuss any of the above please email or call us on 01793 336602, we’d only be too happy to help.
